A Good Reference Guide

I used the 5e/International Edition of the book "Marketing Strategy: A Decision-Focused Approach" which has the advantage of being compact in text but meaningful in the approach to present the knowledge that you need know for the daily marketing practise. It helps to endeavor the core concepts of marketing strategy with a clear language and "short" (compact) passages. If you have to study in length this book works only as references but if you are looking for an overview this book will serve you well with sections divided in "Introduction of Strategy", "Opportunity Analysis", "Formulating Marketing Strategies and Implementation and Control". Furthermore this book uses company cases (3M, Iomega's Zip, IBM etc.) to introduce new topics and allow for every chapter to have a rich reference guide to second literature. If you combine this book with other literature like (Kotler/Keller,Marketing Management (12th Edition) (Marketing Management) ; Kerin/Peterson,Strategic Marketing Problems: Cases and Comments (11th Edition)), it will complement the study of marketing strategy well.

Sexually transmitted diseases are taking over the future of our kids. It is important that we as a community rally together to inform our future the reality of being sexually active, and its side effects. Often times our concern is to warn them about teenage pregnancy, rather than the life threatening risks they are taking. We need to instill in our youth that when they are sexually active they are really playing a game of rushing roulette, and only the wise will survive. As parents we need to face the reality that our children are learning things at an earlier age and we must maintain a relationship with them so that they will not be a statistic. It is time for some of us to stop being their friends and be their parents. In order to help save our children's future we must be a part of their presence. We must take a stand for our children and teach them to stand for what they believe in. Granted things happen and mistakes are made but for every second chance they get they must understand that their luck will soon run out. Although, they may not get a STD, (but really what are their odds) they may still get something that could change their lives forever!

Excellent introductory sailing manual.

I purchased this book, as well as the "Complete Sailor" and "Sailing for Dummies" in an effort to learn to sail a 14 ft. dinghy, and I can easily say that "Learning to Sail" was the best of the three. It's very simple, with just enough basics to get you up and sailing safely. No, you won't be able to cruise to the Bahamas after reading this book, but it should be more than enough to let you enjoy a little freedom out on the lake. It was very nicely illustrated, with simple, straightforward instruction. It also had good illustrations on how to tie some of the basic knots in sailing, as well as where and when they're used. Overall, an excellent book for the beginning sailor.

This book is easy to read and understand. There are a lot of interesting charts and diagrams displayed in clever ways, overlapping transparencies and the like will keep the college kid stimulated and interested in class. I bought this book for a class I barely went to, it was enough to get me a decent grade.

I'm not sure why I'm reviewing a book that you are probably buying because your professor told you to, but here goes: It's a good fairly easy to understand book. Buying the access online is a great idea. This book is very similar to the latest version they have rearranged some of the chapters though.

Clearly Current for a Dynamic Scientific Discipline

There have been many books, papers and publications written on the subject of Reliability. Since the AGREE Report, followed by C. Ryerson's work at RCA in the 50's on a pre-Mil-Hdbk 217, there have been many authors promoting and upgrading the discipline of Reliability. Most engineering and scientific textbooks have a tragic short lifespan. However,in my opinion, I believe Charles Ebeling's work is an example a more enduring and sustaining effort. Chapter 9,"Maintainability" is a good illustration that could be of value to a Maintenace Manager that shows the benefit of PM. Chapter 10,"Design for Maintainability" carries on with discussions of Reliability of Repairable system, i.e. repair or replace..... Chapter 17, "Reliability Estimation and Application" is priceless as examples to emulate. I believe that the applications are more appealing to a wider audience, i.e. Non-Aerospace industry. If there is a shortcoming, it is one that always concerns me in all the classes that I teach.
It is that none of the techniques, equations, empirical methods or algorithms have any value, if the DATA has no integrity.
Chapter 12,"Data Collection and Empirical Methods" is a fine chapter, perhaps it could have been first?
DATA integrity is crucial. Data means drudgery, screening, checking, confirming but a vital platform for analysis to spring to decision making. My simplest example of data without integrity is the application of computer program to estimate an average, that is based on 4 data points, (1 , 2 , 3 , 5280). Is the average 1321.5? or What? I believe that this book has a future and a longer life.

Excellent introduction to reliability and maintainability

This is one of the best written reliability books published. It is a great handbook for the practitioner, and an even better book for the novice. It should make a great addition to any Electrical, Mechanical, or Reliability Engineer's bookshelf. If someone is preparing for ASQ's Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) Exam, this is one of the three books they should own. My only complaint is that it does not address R&M of production systems, which is where most other texts fall short.

Excellent reference

An introduction? Not hardly, for the practioner this book is outstanding. Reliability is not alway the most simple of subject to understand. If you have a good math background and need to have reliability explained or demonstrated this book is an excellent choice. The mothods and calculation are presented in a very systematic manner that makes it easy to follow and understand. Kudos to the author!
